What I did for this exercise is create the main text "let it be" and
then expanded it so I could type along the path. Then I typed in the
lyrics to the song "Let It Be" by The Beatles until it filled the entire
path of the text. Then I added the subtle textured background for
unity. Last I warped the main object so it looked like it was coming at
you.

I find it difficult to negatively critique anything with lyrics from The Beatles, but I do find the image should correlate more with the literal words, "let it be". The lyrics do of course underline what you're referring to, but I thought the assignment was to manipulate whatever word(s) chosen in light of its literal meaning. Let it be is fairly difficult to begin with, so I may have chose a different word or phrase.
ReplyDeleteThis image though is priceless, well, not literally, because I certainly would buy this if I found it in a store. Looks aesthetically pleasing and of course the lyrics are a work of art in themselves.
i really like the idea and composition behind this piece the only problem i have with it is the lyrics are difficult to make out.
ReplyDeleteI like this piece and its simplicity. You communicated your idea well. The only thing I suggest is that you space the main text letters because its difficult reading the lyrics.
ReplyDeleteI love the concept, and the use of lyrics. It really draws me into the piece and moves me through it. My only suggestion is to change the background color to something that will help the lyrics stand out a little more.
ReplyDeleteI like the color, it is soft and peaceful which is what the lyrics inspire with me, but the shape of the words is a bit confusing. It all looks like one word and I don't understand the meaning behind the bloating at the center.
ReplyDeleteSuper cool idea. I love the fact that you had the lyrics make the letters of the phrase. I just wish there was more. Maybe more lyrics? Maybe more color? It just needs more of something.
ReplyDeleteI like the background color, but I think it is a little bit simple. Maybe change the words' color or fill it in different colors or pictures.
