For my exercise I wanted to show that a student can be a teacher and a teacher is also a student. No one knows everything and I wanted to explore that some. Mostly though I wanted to play with the different fonts and how they fit certain ideas.
I downloaded a few fonts that I liked and then mostly just played with the placement. I would get the word close to were I wanted it and then I would move each letter to the exact location that I wanted it. I also used the text path tool to write on the existing words.

This is a very cool and original concept. I like all the small details in this piece. Something I might change is how you interlaced the words, I feel like there is a different way you can convey this message.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of using the two words student and teacher. The picture shows me that although these are two different words and can take on each others' meaning, as the old saying says, "the student has become the teacher." The only part I don't understand are the white spaces in the letters. I feel it distracts from the unity of the piece.
ReplyDeleteYou have great subject matter but I'm having trouble seeing the subject. The text itself is interesting but it's difficult to find the subject. For the small letters in cursive, I would either change the font or see how adjusting the font size could better make it more readable.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea and the colors you chose to use because they have a contrast to them. The thing I would have changed is the font itself. It was kind of hard to read at first. Or maybe just making it bigger? It just needed to be more readable.
ReplyDeletei like the look of it however i think the words could interact is some other way to better get your point across.
ReplyDeleteI like the jumping feeling of the words, but maybe you should change the background color, it looks a little bit weird with the blue words.
