When I was searching for a picture
of Justin Bieber, I had found a black and white one in which he was wearing a
crown. I considered the whole thing about him offending Prince William and many
in the U.K. when he made the comment about his receding hairline. With this, I
decided to look up images of the Queen, and to my luck found a perfect vintage
black and white that I could work with.
I cropped Justin’s head and placed
it on her torso by magic wand, saw that there was too much variance in the
shades of grey used, so I adjusted the vibrance, brightness, and contrast of
both images until I could get them at a decently similar level. The main issue I was presented with was molding the head well to the body, as I had to adjust shading through a lot of use of the dodge/brush tools of Photoshop since
it took time to get it to where I thought it looked most natural. Originally I
was going to leave Justin’s signature fringe in the photo, but I decided to
test out the clone stamp tool to get the queen’s forehead and hairline as part
of his face. This led to more blending and shading through dodge/brush to
assure that the lighting would distribute well throughout. It actually surprises me
how nice he looks with her hair. Very pretty.
Last, I figured a vintage picture of the British flag would fit the mood, found the right one, adjusted some of the vibrance/brightness levels, and placed it as the background of my image. VoilĂ !
