Lookout Mountain

Due to the fact that this project is meant to illustrate the passing of time, I think it would be best for me to choose the mountaintop idea because I would be able to show a longer and slower duration of time. Although the basketball idea is very intriguing I doubt too many people are there throughout the day due to the hot weather. Thus, I would not be able to capture much besides the sky and then an explosion of people and night. I also don’t know how many people would be okay with me taking pictures and I believe I would be more productive on the mountaintop.  I also believe the mountaintop would be the most visually interesting of the two if I do it right

Going into class I thought simply using a digital camera and shooting photos would suffice but given the information about shutter speeds, aperture circumference, and using tripods, I now know that I there is more to think about besides angles. Hopefully, I gather the items and information I need to communicate my idea effectively.

Visually, what I plan to do with my project is to create a single image of a view, overlooking the city, and blending the images, I took throughout the day, I want to create that single image. I want portions of it to be night, morning, and so on. What I’m hoping for is a lot of contrast but a sense of unity and to overall capture the experience of what it feels like to be there throughout the day. I might even photograph the view that includes the trail leading to the mountaintop so I can include people in the image as well.
